Welcome to Behavior Doctor Seminars

This site is dedicated to providing proactive strategies and solutions for behaviors that adults wish to target for change in either their personal children or the students that they teach.

The information is based in behavioral theory; however, you will not find all the educational jargon and quotations on this site. This site is written for teachers and parents who are in a hurry, want some help, and have a few minutes to read some ideas.

You will find books, PowerPoints, Forms, and Tools. Click the tabs across the top or use the menu section for specific topics.

The starting point for this website was the "Caught You Red Handed" exhibiting excellent behavior cards. So many parents and teachers seem to be exasperated with behavior. Our goal is to shed light on some techniques that have worked for us. We want you to get up in the morning and say, "I can't wait for the kids to try a new behavior today...because I'm ready for them."

Our motto is work smarter-not harder; which means we love to share. If you have a good idea you've used that you would like to share please send it. We will credit you as the author.

If you are in charge of staff development and find the tools (PowerPoints and Books) helpful to your training, please feel free to use them. All we ask is that you give credit to the original authors and the materials are not to be sold. Please email us and tell us what you thought of the materials.

Did you watch Dr. Phil's show on corporal punishment? "Check out this PPT show about corporal punishment." Save the file on your computer first and then open the show.

Free rewards for students. Click here to find a document with 100 ways to reward an elementary student, 60 ways to reward secondary students, and 35 ways to reward adults. Believe it or not, children do not want candy, trinkets, or ramen noodles. They want time with adults and peers and escape from work. There are ways to help them get what they want and very few of those on this list cost money. Click here.

Coming Soon- A new book focusing on media depiction of people with disabilities. This book will have book lists for children, movie lists, and television programs that depict people with disabilities in a positive role or the media format depicts information that would be helpful for classroom teachers or parents to help young children understand disabilities. This book will have lesson plans for empathy training. There is a huge difference between empathy and sympathy. If we want to fully include all children then we all need to understand the feelings, needs, and wants of people with different abilities.

This is a small excerpt from the forthcoming book.
